  • Adjustable shelving without drilling?

    Hi everyone!

Need some suggestions on creative ways to add adjustable shelving in kitchen cabinets without drilling permanent holes. Looking for solutions that are sturdy but also renter-friendly.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi, DarkKnight!

You could try tension rods with lightweight shelving for smaller items, or use adhesive shelf brackets that can hold adjustable shelves without drilling. Another option is stackable wire racks or freestanding shelf inserts that fit inside the cabinet to create extra levels. If you want something more custom, there are adjustable shelving systems with non-damaging adhesive mounts that allow you to reposition the shelves as needed. Magnetic or suction-cup brackets could also work, depending on the cabinet material.

I like the idea of adhesive shelf brackets! Do you know if they can handle heavier items like plates, or are they better for lighter stuff?

Adhesive shelf brackets can work well for lighter items like spices, mugs, or pantry goods, but for heavier things like plates, they might not hold up as well over time. If you’re set on using them, look for high-strength adhesive options rated for more weight, and make sure they’re applied to a clean, smooth surface for the best grip. If you need something sturdier, stackable wire racks or freestanding inserts might be a safer choice since they don’t rely on adhesives. Have you measured your cabinet space yet to see what might fit best?
