  • series to parallel connections

I replaced 3 strip fixtures in my garage that were T-12 fluorescent with electormagnetic ballasts with new fixtures that are T-8 with electronic ballasts. Now only one fixture will operate, and then, only when the lamps are removed from the other two fixtures. If I leave the lamps in all of the fixtures, the GFI trips the circuit. I'm told that the old wiring was in a "series", and that I need to connect the fixtures in a "parallel" manner. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how to change the wiring.

The top circuit is run in series. The bottom one is run in parallel.

The diagrams explain it perfectly. Thanks. Now, the problem is physically getting to the electrical boxes and fishing the wiring thru. I'm thinking it might be easier to wire each fixture separately with it's own switch. Or maybe surface channels.
