    Just the HDMI ports

Had a power surge which went through the Fios top box HDMI port, blew out the HDMI ports in a LCD HD tv connected to it, then blew out the HDMI port on a X-Box360 which was connected to the tv. The HDMI ports are fried on the tv, top box and X-Box, but the tv, top box and X-Box seem alright otherwise. The HDMI cords are OK. Is that possible? On a side note an air conditioner on the same circuit won't start, but the light on it's power cord lights when plugged in.?

the FioS should have not been affected because it is fiber optic. however the fiberoptic is reconverted to a digital signal by the amplifier and is subject to line surges. a surge protector would have helped the situation if installed between the power outlet and the convertor.
