    I am working on a snowmachine project and need to convert ac current to dc to run a cooling fan any suggestions on building a converter?

        please go to this site. it's where I buy all [or most] of my electronics stuff. in the search window of the site type in bridge rectifier. the PIV is the peak inverse voltage. you can get a bridge rectifier valued at 25 amps for about $2.50

          DuneMe yeah, but who wants to pay an arm and a leg for something simple like a bridge rectifier to change ac to dc? you can get regulated power supplies, but for a straight fan you don't need regulation. unregulated dc with little to no filtering you'll get by. why complicate things?

            Bridge rectifier was $2.50 and runs the fan perfect.
