When I lived in Mass I got called to a jobsite for a U-Haul franchise. He said his electrical was faulty. All the lights would flicker at all times during the day. When they used an impact wrench on a 20 amp circuit the lights would go completely out and come back on. Nothing wrong in the branch panel but when I opened up the main - a 600amp FPE breaker was carbonized between phase A and B! The breaker would not open when I tried to move the handle. I told him (manager) I would have to order another main breaker to the tune of $1200. He said he'd wait for the u-haul techs for a second opinion. I said suit yourself. Three weeks later the place burned to the ground.
