Husband and I recently had new siding put on our home and a new mounting box was put on by the contractor. We just went to install the new exterior light and realized that the depth of the mounting block (2") makes it so the mounting plate for the light doesn't sit up against the junction box and the provided screws are not long enough. Can you see any problem with just buying longer screws to span the distance between plate and box screw holes?
Exterior mounting block too deep?
