  • 3 way switch voltage ?

I have followed the diagrams posted on this site for a 3 way. My question is when I am checking the wires at the light in on position my white to green is 0 A/C black to white is 120 a/c and black to green is 120 a/c.
In off position white to green is 0 a/c black to white is 67 a/c and black to green is 67 a/c.
Should I be concerned about the 67ac in the off position?

I bet you're using a digital voltmeter. What you're reading are phantom voltages http://www.nema.org/engineering/papers/PhanBull88.html

Try using an anolog meter and see what you read.

[8D]After tracing everything back to the panel by jumping junction box to light and so on to check and see that I did not acidentally shave a wire through the wire casing I see how it is possible to have a phantom voltage problem.
I was using a true rms digital meter and thankfully conclude that this was the problem.
This forum is the best. Thanks for the valable information.
