I would like to know how to test a washing machine water level switch.I was told that the switch was most likely bad & I need to test it.I would appreciate any help.

ammoturtle:If your water is overfilling the tub it's safe to assume the switch and/or the valve mechanism or associated wiring is at fault. With power off, if its possible, manually operate the switch while observing for continuity across contact terminals. Check continuity of valve. Note. . .Can you first verify that the mechanical actuation part of the switch is OK by observing its movement as water enters? Check the paste-on circuit diagram for details on the hookup, etc.
