    wiring for 220

I recently got a welder that needs 220. My garage is only set up for 110. How do you wire for 220???? And how can I add a serperate breaker box in the garage as well???

    Thanks in advance

To get a line with 220 volts, you need to replace two of your breakers in your main panel with a single 220 breaker.

To add a sub panel, you replace a breaker with a larger size breaker sufficient for your sub panel. 60 amps is a god starting place. Wire the sub panel to your new 60 amp breaker with sufficient gauge wire.
