electric gfi outlet -

in the kithcne - all the outlets on 2 of the walls do not work - i baught the gfi receptacle tester and shows (Nuetral contact not connect) - where do i get started to fix this problem

Also, in 3 of the rooms - consecutive to one another - the outlets work - but the lights that are turned on by the switches do not work - help!!!

Did this just start out, or did you just move in? I'd start at the breaker box. Sometimes the wiring in homes is erratic, the problems might all be on the same breaker. Can you verify this? Perhaps that breaker needs replacing?
