  • Wiring for 240/250V

I have couple of kitchen appliances that I brought over from Europe. They are 100-300W appliances that run on 240V. I have a 2 phase + 1 common outlet in the kitchen that is currently connected to our oven.

Instead of buying a step-up transformer, I am thinking of doing a 240/250V wiring on my own by using the 2 phase + 1 common outlet in the kitchen.

My plan is to have an extension cord that is connected to this outlet. The extension cord will provide the 240/250v supply. Please suggest the wiring.

You may run into a serious problem if your appliances have timers or motors. 250v European current if 50hz while in the USA we have 60hz current. Motors and analog timers will run slightly faster (clocks and timers gain about 8 to 9 minutes per hour) and digital timers will not work at all.
