  • Breaker box

I recently put up a new weather head, complete with new conduit and box, the whole nine yards, upgrading my old service. I see from the illustrations of the breaker box that the service lines enter the house and are in conduit. I did not do this. They enter the house with the 90 degree elbow but it stops at the inside wall. I put each individual cable in a hole with a romex clamp thingy. Do the three wires have to enter the box via conduit?

The following diagram should help. A conduit run entrance must be installed as a complete unit - can't stop where you penetrate house. If cable is used from the bottom of the meter, an appropriate non weather tight clamp must be used.
