I am putting a half kitchen in basement (fridge, sink, and microwave) and is it ok code wise to place a microwave outlet and garbage disposal on same 20 amp breaker? i checked the garbage disposal and it's rated at 4.5 amps. The microwave is 1000 watts, about 8.5 amps.
In total this is 13 amps which well below the safe operating range of a 20 amps circuit.
and yes the microwave outlet is on a GFCI.
Next question is if the above is ok, should the garbage disposal switch take it's feed from the Line or Load side of the microwave GFCI?
