  • Outlet voltage

I have two non-working outlets. I used my meter to check their voltage expecting to find none. Intead I found that one reads 43 volts and the other about 90 volts. They are on different circuits.
    any ideas??

    thanks

If I can't fix it I'll screw it up so bad, nobody can.

Did you check the voltage to ground or to common? I am assuming that these are 110V outlets?

Any phantom reading like 43 or 90 volts is often caused by an open neutral. You need to stat inspecting the connections in each box on the circuit/
