Wire types TW has a thermoplastic insulation without the nylon coating and is rated at 55 amps. Type TW changes its characteristics to THHN/THWN by the nylon coating and raises its amp rating to 65 amps. you may be able to get a main lug kit for your remote panelbox and eliminate the use of a second circuit breaker. In all due respects, when any remote panelbox becomes a sub-panel it should be fed with a four wire, not a three wire. check with your local inspector to see if he'll allow you to use your old panel in your garage with the addition of a driven ground rod and the addition of an auxillary grounding bar inside.
