Switch/Outlet combo

I bought a GFCI Switch/Outlet combo and went to install it only to find out it will not function on a switch loop. My question is, will a non-GFCI Switch/Outlet combo work on a switch loop? I don't care if the outlet does not work when the switch is off. I just need something there until I have time to run new wire.

The answer is YES. A non-GFCI outlet will work fine.
