I seem to remember coming across a thread where someone stated they were having issues removing/replacing their light bulbs in their recessed cans. I'm having the same issue, and I seem to remember someone saying that it is possible to apply a little bit of vasoline on the end of the bulb so it would be easier to remove and replace the bulbs. Does this sound right? I wanted to get some input and find out if I was dreaming or if someone actually suggested it. Thanks in advance.

this is true apply any non conducting petroleum jelly on the screw shell part of the bulb. It needen't be heavy. a small amount goes a long way. the older fixture shells were made of brass the newer ones are aluminum. the heat of operating these receptacles tends to partially weld the lamps into their sockets, making removal impossible. the jelly eliminates this problem.
