What’s the reason behind burn out of CFL?

Whats the reason behind burn out of CFL?
I used it for just 4 months and it burned out.
Why so? due to high voltage or something?? or any other reason.

they're small and they create heat which causes them to self distruct.

Well, I think that might have happened due to high voltage.
Sometimes, in some cases that just happens due to high voltages and can be same in your case i think.

mariya - have you had any electrical theory? you should know that flourescent lamps of ANY type use a higher than normal voltage to "flash over!"
