    Too much light

i have a 48" kitchen floresecent tube lamp on my kitchen ceiling. Problem is the lamp light cover that fits over the tubes has a 1' gap from the ceiling to the starting of the lamp light cover. Giving me an odd lighting situation when the light is on. Trying to find a way to fill that gap and still have a nice appearance for a kitchen light. Lampcover is white... Holding fixtures for lamp cover are stainless steel

    please suggest

what I did for my own "troffer" is enclose the whole light with a four inch wide birch plywood strip. goes all the way around the fixture and the wood looks good near the ceiling.

I had the same problem with my kitchen light. I purchased some molding and made a nice looking frame around it.
