I need to monitor my daily power use in the home to size up a system for off the grid application. Is there a good meter that I can use to chart my power use, with peaks and spikes for A/C range, dryer etc?
since POWER is a mathematical calculation of amps and voltage [P=EI] you'll need a strip chart recorder capable of measuring those values and recording thesame on a calibrated paper or paper-less chart. You can also use your computer to record the totals as in a data logger.
