You will need a 100 amp tie-bar breaker for the main panel. Wire size will depend on wire rating 60C or 90C, copper or alum. how far is the new sub panel from the main, voltage drop is an issue as distance increases. I'm not a electrician but if I recall you will need 4-4 90C thhn copper wire for a 100 amp sub. panel.

1 100 amp breaker or 2 50 amp breakers will do the trick, I would think, assuming that both are 110 volts.

New Sub Panel
Hello,
I'm running a new sub-panel and have a few questions. I purchased a new 100 amp sub-panel and need to know two things. In my current panel do I need to by a paired 50amp breaker (50amp per) to reach the 100 amp or do I get a paired 100 amp breaker? Also what size wire do I need? I was thinking I needed 6-4 is that correct?
