I recently riped out carpet to install pergo flooring. Upon ripping out the padding I found small brackets coming out of the walls, bent under the existing molding, and screwed into the plywood floor. I'm assuming that they are supporting either the walls or the floors (I cant see if they are screwed into beams). Can these be removed (are they absolutly necessary). Otherwise, is it possible/advisable to notch the bottom of pergo boards so that they can sit over the brackets?
Thanks
