  • Floor Leveler to use under Hardwood Floors

I'm about to install solid oak hardwood floors over the subfloor in my family room, kitchen, and dining room. Previously, two the rooms had carpeting and the other linoleum that I pulled up.

The kitchen has an area near one of the walls that needs to be leveled. What material would work best for leveling the subfloor, knowing that hardwood floors will be nailed through it into the subfloor? I didn't see other postings that specifically addressed this.

I looked at using MAR-GON Floor Leveler, but am concerned it will crack.

    Thanks

Can I ask how you made out and what you used?

Level -Lastic is a portland cement based floor leveler. It goes on with a trowel after mixing with a latex bonding agent. It is somewhat flexible in that nailing through it won't shatter it and still maintain its levelling characteristics.
