Peel and Stick Tile?
01-05-2007, 07:39 PM
We are in dire need of a new kitchen floor. Purchased peel and stick tile and hoping we can lay them right over the existing peel and stick tile. What would we need to do before starting this project;ie: stripping wax off of the old tiles etc?

yes, try to get as close to the "old" floor as possible. putting tile over wax is like putting cement over flaky pastry - the layers will come apart.

Peel and Stick Tiles
Thank you so very much. Can you suggest a good wax stripper, or would any from the grocery stores do the trick?

ammonia water is the best - stinks like heck but it will dissolve even the mettalic interlock waxes.
