rubber wheels of sander left marks in my hardwood

Hi. I have a question I am hoping someone on here can answer since no one else has been able to. I just stripped and resanded my hardwood floor with a large rental orbital sander. It looked beautiful until I made the last pass over the floor. The little rubber wheels on the sander left marks all over the floor. I have tried sanding them out with another rental, hand sanders, I even steam ironed the floor and they won’t come out. It doesn’t seem to be dented or anything but nothing works. Have any secrets to share on how to fix this?! I would greatly appreciate it.

tried stripper and mineral spirits. I talked to a guy that thought maybe it was old oil in the dips of the floor and when my wheels went through it, it left tracks. Sanded for several hours again last night and they are still there but are getting lighter.

      thanks.
