I am in the process of finishing my basement and am ready to put carpet down on the concrete. The floor is a one piece poured concrete, very thick, and very dry. Are there any special carpet pads for concrete that anyone knows of? Or are there any special procedures or tips anyone could share I would appreciate it.

I am about to do the same thing in my basement. In the past I had a split level and the padding was glued to the cement and the carpet was installed with the strech nailers. I didn't have a problen in the 10 years I lived there.
I am going to double check with the carpet store and builder supply store when I do it again in a couple of months.
