  • Duct Cleaning Costs

Hi. I am new to the forum. I have been completely renovating a house and generating tons of dust to an already ancient HVAC system. I have called a couple of places to have the ducts cleaned. So far the best price is $325 for the furnace and 10 vents. Does anyone know if this is reasonable; I have never had this done before.

    Thank you very much.

the best price is not always BEST.
Find out if they know what they are doing.
That industry usually consiste of carpet cleaners that don't have enough work, or chmney sweeps that don't have enough work.
Not to say say either is not qualified, but dig a little deeper.

This duct cleaning, in order to be done properly involves the use of very STRONG suction Vacuum equipment, usually in the 20,000 cfm range. The job to be done will only be as good as this equipment. Check various Duct cleaners in the area and obtain some info on their equipment. Go with the most reputable in the Field of "duct cleaning".

I paid about $400 for duct cleaning, which included $60 to clean my furnace too. I have a 30 year old furnace and ducts, which hadn't been cleaned in that long (just bought the house). I think it was worth every penny. Really made a difference when using the furnace this winter. Took about 3-4 hours for the cleaning, and he used the high power vacumn and a broom/brush type of thing. Cleans ducts and about 10 vents.
