    Nortron Furnace 21B10M

Have a Nortron electric furnace purchased in 2006 at our cabin. Furnace just stopped working. Tried the thermostat and nothing worked. Shut off the main breaker and turned it back on and furnace started working again. Breaker was not tripped. Any ideas what would cause this or may need to be replaced on the unit?

    circuit breaker

a circuit breaker can trip and not indicate its tripped. you should exercise breakers all the way off then on when resetting them. in your case check for a direct short within a element bank or burnt wires on the sequencer relay(s)

Furnace was working for a week or so and then just got a call that cabin is cold and not working again. It does run and blow heat when you switch it on to continuous run but not on manual (automatic). Still sound like an electrical issues or part inside furnace?

Could it be a sequencer on the furnace?

          heat

As I said before the heat is controlled by the thermostat and operates the sequencer. each sequencer has a timer and an auxillary contact that is connected to the next sequencer in-line and so on. If you have a five bank heat element setup then you would have five sequencer relays with nothing connected to the fifth relay for aux output.
