From time to time, I get a Code 5 For the Roll out Switch open or detected. My question is that when this happens, both the funance blower fan and the recirulating fan continue to run, and I am unable to turn them off from the thermastat. Switching the Thermastat to the off position does nothing. I have been flipping the breaker to the furnance unit, and then it will run normal for a few days, and then act up again. Normally I'm not at the unit or its been in the middle of the night when this happens.
Is this the normal reaction when Code 5 for the Roll out Switch open or a rollout is dectected? or do I have a thermastat or a control board that is acting up?
Tonight I'm going to try switching the thermastat with another unit in the house. (I don't think that bypassing the thermastat will work, because it doesn't happen everytime.)
