We purchased an old home recently, the furnace is a Goodman and was installed in 2007. I recently installed a new Shelter wood furnace as well. It is located at the opposite end of the house as there was an old wood stove chimney already there. Right now we are flying through the LP. I need the fan on the gas furnace to stay on with out igniting the burners to draw the heat out of the wood furnace. How do I accomplish this? Right now it is not saving me any money running the wood furnace since I have to keep the gas furnace running to circulate the air. Please Help...

fan
are both systems ducted together?
its an easy fix by installing an industrial on-off-on turn type switch.
also you might consider a plenum type fan limit switch for use in the wood burner plenum.
write me back with an email address and I'll send you a schematic.

I first connected the wood furnace to the supply line, then a friend said it should be in the return since it is so far from the gas furnace, so the gas furnace fan will draw the heat out when the wood fan kicks on. There is a limit switch on the side of the wood furnace for the blower on said furnace, as the thermostat controls the draft blower on the front of the wood furnace. Is it possible the problem is in the thermostat? As i said the gas furnace works in auto just fine, but when I switch the fan to "ON" it still works as if it is in auto. When the fan is set in the "ON" position on the thermostat it should run constantly even when the burners kick off correct? email is mmd2803@aol.com ThanksOriginally posted by HayZee518 View Postare both systems ducted together?
