  • What kind of professional to address condensation issues?

Recently a lot of moisture has started condensing above several smoke detectors in my house and setting them off. The smoke detectors are wired into the AC power and are mounted to the ceiling with brackets. Water is condensing on the bracket and I suspect it might be due to cold air conditioned air mixing with warm, humid air from outside.

I want to hire a professional to address this issue before more smoke detectors get broken or further water damage occurs, but I'm not sure what kind of professional to contact. Would it be an HVAC technician? A water damage specialist? Something else? What term should I look for to find someone to help with this problem?

    Thanks for the help!

    eh?

if the smoke detectors are fastened to a metal box in the ceiling, do the boxes have insulation above them and are they located within the air conditioned space?
the only way you'll get condensation is with a difference in temperature and humidity.
this difference has to be a drastic change in temperature for condensation to form. a few degrees here or there isn't going to make it happen.
unsnap the smoke detector and just let it hang off the wires and see what happens.

      Condensation. Is it ok?

I think you need HVAC technician, but according to information from reviews condensation is pretty normal in many cases. Poeple always take it as a problem

But, sure, it would be much better to consult someone about it.
