I currently have a Nordyne 624631-B control board that indicates a flame sensor error (3 flashes) intermittently. The furnace will kick on and try to light up 3 times and fail each time. I can see an orange flame each time it attempts to start, but it goes out within 5-10 seconds. After the third attempt the flame sensor indicator flashes and it won’t attempt for another 20-30 minutes. Sometimes it will start properly after the 20-30 minute delay. I have had the flame sensor cleaned and the tech can’t seem to find the problem. Could this be an indication of a bad control board? I noticed that Nordyne no longer sells this board and I have identified the replacement, but wasn’t sure if it was actually a bad board or if I should have other things checked first. I’m not sure if I would even be able to check them. Control board is 8 years old. Thanks in advance for any advice.

is your furnace oil or gas fired?
is it in a mobile home?
what does your flame detector look like?
the following is from a site that has the replacement.

this board is cheaper than hvac's site's price for the exact replacement control board.
