  • Servicing My Oil Burner

I am attempting service on my Rheem High Boy oil fired furnace and have successfully cleaned the ports. I was told to change the oil filter....bought a filter, but have no manual to take me through the steps.

The unit is approx. 20 years old and has a Beckett burner.

Appreciate all advise...except to call a repairman as I do not have the funds.

    Thanks.

On the oil filter not sure what or where you have it. BUT if by the tank . Shut the oil off there, have a pan under the filter take top niut off and filter should drop down. take old filter out. clean the can and put new filter in it . Screw top nut on filter till tight. open bleed screw there a little and turn oil on when all air is out tighten the screw. As said dont know where or how filter is. Start burner if it goes out will have to bleed pump there on it bleeder till no air . Take and go to http://www.freepoolheat.com/oil.html

Might help on how rest of burner works. Hope you put new nozzle in it pay to
