We have a YORK Model#H1DB030S06B air conditoiner.
Today the OUTSIDE unit stopped working. Woke up this AM and it was 76 degrees in the house when it was set to 70. It is like 90 degrees in the living room now. Went outside and the unit was NOT running...the fan was not moving...however, I put my ear up to the fan motor and heard a humming noise...which is normal meaning the inside unit is sending a signal to the outside unit. This is what I have done so far:
1) Cleaned the coils in case it was overheating
2) Checked the breaker box...then flipped the A/C breaker off then back on again
3) Checked the OUTSIDE cartridge fuses and both seemed to be OK
4) Now what???
I am not an electrical wiz like I am on the computer. But I am trying to save a costly repair bill since we have to have our chimeny rebuilt as well.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
