I'm having multiple problems with my 11 year old TRANE XE78 furnace.
Sometimes, it seems to start up correctly. However, when it reaches the set temperature, the heater goes off but the fan contiues to run, producing cold air.
At other times, when I start the heater, the auto lighting device gives off a red glow and dies, and never lights up. The fan starts running and I get cold air.
I've had this problem for sometime. The furnace was checked by the gas company last week, but I was unable to reproduce either of the problems at that time.
The red diagnostic light remains continuously red and does not blink.
