Currently have two thermostats operating, one for a/c and one for the boiler hot water heat and they are mounted side by side. The one for a/c is a round Honeywell and the other for heat is a cheap who knows what. I would like to get the heating and a/c on one stat.
Now I have went and picked up a new subbase (Q539A1147 0532 which is suppose to operate heat and cool on different power supplies) for the honeywell stat. Problem is when I wire it the way the diagram shows with the subbase I can not get the boiler to come on. Here's the wiring I have.
Cooling wires are Red, Yellow, Green
Boiler heat two same color wires.
Connections on the subbase are
RH
RC
G
Y
W
I have had these connected as follows and still no heat
RH - boiler wire
RC - Red wire from cooling
G - Green form cooling
Y - yellow wire from cooling
W - other wire from boiler
Will it make a difference which way the polarity is on the two boiler wires?
I am now operating back the way they were until I figure this out on two stats
