horrible smell

it sounds like your neibor is mostlikely right...on the humidifier, i have seen this alot....but for the smell do you have an a/c system hooked up to this system....or an add on heat pump thats using the lenox as aux.heat?? if so you may have what the ac industry calls dirty sock syndrum,,,sounds funny but many units emit this odor from the coils and can only be fixed by an ac company once detected??///
