I have an induced-draft downflow natural gas furnace that appears to be about 20 years old. It has a spark pilot ignition which seems to be operating just fine. However, the burners ignite and only stay on for about 10 seconds before shutting off. I checked the pilot orifice and sensor - no problems.
BUT, I did find a SOLUTION. It appears that the pressure sensor for the combustion chamber feeds into a circuit board with an edge connector. Reseating the connector multiple times seems to have completely recitified the situation.
