  • Coleman Gas Furnace Problems

Coleman Evcon Gas Furnace, Model BGU09516, approx. 8 years old not working properly. Have had to have this furnace repaired just about every year since I purchasd it. Think I might have got a dud. Had circuit board replaced twice, last time 9 months ago. Replaced thermastat three months ago. Furnace comes on, but blower not cycling off and on like it should.

For instance, yesterday blower would come on and run about 4 minutes, then be off for about 1 1/2 minutes, then back on (continued to cycle off-and-on like this for a couple of hours non-stop). Never got above 66 degrees, even though I had thermastat set at 76. Finally just turned off all together.

Early tonight turned furnace on at thermastat. Set to 72 degrees. Furnace comes on and blower runs non-stop maybe 20 minutes or so, then stalls and stops blowing all-together, but furnace continued to stay on. (it was 62 degees in the house). I let furnace stay on thinking blower would kick back on but it never did. Finally after about an hour and a half, just turned off at the thermastat. Late evening, I turned back on. Furnace comes on, blower runs non-stop for about an hour and temperature gets up to a comfortable 70 degrees.

Don't know if this is making any sense. Just know it's not working and need to do something before it gets real cold. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, thinking about replacing. Tired of putting money into it and still not working. Any ideas on a reliable brand to purchase?
