Hi, I am new here, with a question.
I have an older house with a gravity hot air system. Its actually a system converted from an old coal/wood furnace to oil, in the early 1960's (when fuel oil was about 17 cents a gallon). The burner is installed at the bottom through the old cinder cleanout door. The heat comes up through the floor through one large grate, measuring about 30 X 30 inches.
My question: Is a replacement oil burner still available for this system?
It still works fairly well, but I am getting concerned with its age, as its the original burner, now over 40 yrs. old.
At some time I am considering replacing the whole thing with a forced hot air system, but haven't decided on anything yet, as it will cost big bux.
Thanks for any info.
