Recently, we heard a squeaking noise on our Bryant heat pump while the heat pump was running, then we noticed the fan blades stopped rotating and frost temporarily forms on the outside of the unit. Heat is still coming thru the vents, however.
We turned off the heat pump now and we are using the gas auxillary back up for heat.
(it's about 49 degrees outside)
Could this be a fan belt breakage problem? If so, is this something we as homeowners could replace ourselves? Would appreciate any suggestions or input before we call a service person. Thanks.
