    Hi
I am trying to help my son-in-law in fixing his furnance. The first thing we found wrong was the induction fan motor went bad. i changed it but the furnance will not work. The induction fan comes on but that is it. What should be my first step in testing this unit. it is about 16 years old so there is no code light. It worked up to the point when the induction fan died. Where do I go next. I need any help I can get and where should I start. Any ideas.
    Thanks
    Tim

the induction fan came on. is there a sail switch which proves to the system that there is a positive pressure going up? look somewhere for an air flow switch that'll allow the burner to kick in. look for a tripped lockout relay. nat gas or propane look for a standing pilot. oil burner, see that the blower is spinning, spark at the electrodes, Cad cell flame detector works.
