I have been polyurethanening hardwood floors that I am refinishing. I have not been in the house for a day or two. I get home and the house is 40 degrees. The furnace is trying to run. Thermostate is honeywell digital programmable. It is set for our program, never had a problem with it. I go downstairs, reset the gas flow unit, cycle power and watch. The blower works fine but there is no glow and therefore, no ignition. Please help. I checked gas by making the water heater turn on and it is fine.

I ordered one online, guess I have to find a place to stay at for 1/2 a week. I tried using a propane torch to light it once the 120VAC kicked in. It lite all the burners fine but then went out after 5 seconds. It is sensing that the hot surface igniter is not in place? I have to the door off but have the safety switch bypassed. I wanted to get the house up in temp again so I don't have to worry about pipes bursting. It is supposed to get down to 15 degrees tonight.

Sorry that I am hardly an expert, but I feel your pain--have been in a similar situation with a gas company service contract and no one responding. Best thing to do right now: Go buy some electric heaters, enough to put a few close to pipes that are most exposed. Also wrap pipes with foam or other insulation.
My problem with the glow bars continually breaking was eventually solved by getting a bigger heater and setting it so it did not turn on and off so frequently. But as I said, I am not an expert at all.

Yeah, I heard they only last 3-5 years. I ordered the same one that was in there. Troubleshooting it was pretty easy. It was the first time I ever had. This should get me by for another 3-5
The company I ordered from is in WI and I'm in MN. Hopefully they will ship out Monday and I should get it by Wednesday.
The furnace is a really good one, I think RUUD is the best brand. It was installed in 91 so I don't know how much life I have left, it is in perfect condition though. I'm sure it will go for another 10 years.
