  • Heating unit is freezing

I don't understand why but my heat pump unit is freezing the vent openings on two sides. The house is keeping temperature okay, but the unit sounds really loud when it cuts on.. Any thoughts as to what the problem could be. A Service man came out about a month ago and found some minor connectors that needed replacing. It wasn't working then. been working fine except noticed the freezing..

    Please help...

Freon is used in both cooling AND heating in a heat pump.
And usually when you have icing on the coils it indicates low freon.
Of course it could be other problems too, like a bad reversing valve.
Just fill out the form below and we can help you find low rates when your contract expires. Some energy companies raise their electric rates when your term expires, so you'll want to be on the ball, and ready to switch providers or plans.
