  • To HayZee518: Best generation of Monitor heaters?

HayZee, you seem to be a Monitor guru! I'm wondering if we can have your insight as to Monitor design over the years. I'm considering replacing my monitor 41 with a newer model (programmable) but of course stumbled upon Al's site which rails against everything Monitor-related but especially the newer models.

    Would you replace a 41 with a 441 or 2400?

Thanks for any advice you could give on reliability of newer models.

I had a monitor M-41 for 7 years. I replaced the combustion blower motor and the fuel pump. Eventually this and the repair costs to get it back into "out of the showroom" quality would negate the repair so I was able to get a new one at little cost. What I got was a 2400 and so far it has outperformed the M-41. The 2400 is the highest output, the 2200 is the next in line. The Toyostove is similar in design and operation so if want to vary away from Monitors that is your call. As far as Al Luce's site he's got a new twist to his expertise. I went to Bob Vila's site and put in my two cents there regarding Al Luce.
