  • Hooking UP Water Softener

Will be installing a water softener shortly. The softener has a stainless steel bypass valve. Main supply line to softener is 3/4" type L copper. I had planned on using a threaded copper fitting at the bypass valve and then sweat the other end to a union fitting by way of a short piece of copper pipe. Is this ok or do I need to use a dielectric union at the bypass valve between the copper and the stainless steel?
