I found a remedy for the loud noise of slamming toilet seats and toilet seats getting loose. And it actually helps stabilize the seat. The product is called Toilet Cushy. I definitely think it is worth the few bucks. Great product!!!

something else to install when you are installing any toilet seat. the bolts [brass or nylon] are 5/16" there's always a space between the bolt and the porcelain hole. use a short piece of poly tubing between the bolt and the porcelain hole. less chance of it slipping sideways and shearing off the bolt. -
