Got into a debate with someone who said it never corrodes. I clearly disagree. True, that iron corrodes faster but just wondering how many out there would agree with my friend.

How does your friend explain copper turning green? -
Technically the answer is yes, the Patina you see on copper (dark brown turning to green) is in fact corrosion, however this Patina layer protects the copper from further corrosion that's why in gutters or roofing it can last a long time.
There are some other factors that can lead to copper pipe corrosion like "pitting" low PH water will cause it for one.
So technically you are correct yes it does/can corrode however not in the same sense as iron pipe or even galvanized pipe does.

Not just low PH. Chlorine raises cane with copper. I had a friend who had to re plumb his entire house because the chlorine had eaten holes in the copper in just six years.Comment
