  • Soil pipe

The home was built in 1909. I thinks bathrooms much later. Very strange plumbing. The cast iron soil pipe goes to city line. I think there is build up in the main trunk. Has a clean out on end and plug has been changed to PVC. It's a straight run out of the wall. What's the best way to clean it out?

    waste line

is the pvc installed in the cleanout fitting? did they leave another cleanout cap?
they should have installed a tee wye fitting with a cap.
if there is nothing like this then you'll have to remove the pvc, clean out the line and re-pipe the pvc.
other alternative is to clean it out via the roof stack.

      soil pipe

I have snaked out by removing the toilet and going in through the toilet flange, just a thought.

        clean out

good suggestion but are you going to remove the toilet every time there's a blockage?
be better to put in a pvc tee-wye with a cleanout fitting in the horizontal run in the basement.

We rented a motorized snake and cleaned it.
