Slow Drain

Anyone have a sure fire way to unclog a slow drain? I have tried a plunger and drano with limited success. Help!!

I've had success with a hand snake (about $15.00 at Home Depot), however, only when the source of the clog is relatively close to the drain opening.
Hope this helps.
